Important Election Dates

Indiana's 2026 primary election is May 5, 2026, and the voter registration deadline is April 6, 2026.

  • Voter Registration Deadline (Primary) - April 6, 2026

  • Early Voting Begins - April 7, 2026

  • Primary Election Day - May 5, 2026

  • Voter Registration Deadline (General) - October 5, 2026

  • General Election Day - November 3, 2026

Make Sure You Are Registered

If you want to make sure you are registered to vote, or need to register to vote. Click the button below. It will take you to the Indiana Voters website, where you can check your registration and also register to vote.

DON’T FORGET: You must be registered to vote at least 29 days before the election in Indiana.

Ways to Vote in Indiana

Vote Early

Indiana allows in-person early voting at your county clerk’s office or satellite locations.

Typical window:

  • Begins: 28 days before the election

  • Ends: noon the day before Election Day

(Actual hours vary by county.)

Vote By Mail (Absentee)

Indiana requires a reason to vote by absentee ballot.

Examples include:

  • Being out of the county on Election Day

  • Illness or disability

  • Being over age 65

  • Working during polling hours

Vote on Election Day

Polls are open:

6:00 AM – 6:00 PM

If you are in line by 6:00 PM, you can still vote.

Very Important

Voter ID Requirements

Indiana requires a photo ID.

Acceptable IDs include:

  • Indiana driver’s license

  • Indiana state ID

  • U.S. passport

  • Military ID

The ID must:

  • show your name

  • show your photo

  • not be expired (with some exceptions)
